While digging through some old papers I found this short story scribbled on a couple of pieces of paper. I have no memory of it and I’m not sure if I did this for school or for pleasure. I’m guessing from my handwriting that I was in the third or fourth grade.
Potion
He promised her that he would try and find a new potion to get her back to normal size. George tried about four times to get it right. He tried each time on a chicken. The first one’s neck grew longer than a giraffe. The second chicken’s legs got really long. The thirds feathers fell out and then finally the fourth chicken grew small. Just then George’s grandma appeared in the kitchen. She started to complain about her morning tea. She saw that George was holding a cup of brown liquid which just so happen to look like tea. She grabbed it from him and drank it all down before George could stop her. She began to smoke and whistle and slowly started to get smaller. Soon she was no bigger than a match stick. Then a pin. Then a pumpkin seed. Then she was completely gone. George’s mother started to cry, but George didn’t say a word.
